Address Column Splitter
Split single-column addresses into Street, City, State, ZIP, and Country — or merge address columns back into one field. Everything runs in your browser.
About this tool
The address splitter turns a single address column into clean Street, City, State/Region, Postal Code, and Country columns — and the merger does the reverse, folding those columns back into one field. Both directions work from a paste, right in your browser.
Store exports and supplier feeds rarely agree on address format. Splitting a one-line address into columns makes it filterable and import-ready; merging scattered columns into one field gives you a tidy shipping label or display address. Paste, pick a direction, and copy the CSV.

Frequently asked questions
- How does the splitter know which part is the city or state?
- It reads comma-separated addresses and matches the common Street, City, State ZIP, Country layout. US state codes, ZIP, UK, and Canadian postal codes are detected automatically. Anything it can't confidently place is left in the City column so nothing is dropped.
- What format should I paste for splitting?
- One address per line, with parts separated by commas — for example "123 Main St, Springfield, IL 62704, USA". Tick "First line is a header" if your first row is a column title rather than an address.
- Can I change the separator when merging?
- Yes. The default is a comma and space (", "), which reads naturally, but you can set any separator such as a space or a pipe. Empty cells are skipped so you never get double separators.
- Does my address data leave my browser?
- No. Splitting and merging both run entirely in your browser — nothing is uploaded. To keep store data flowing into a sheet automatically, connect ShopSheets instead.
