Your data never leaves your browser
About this tool
The date format converter rewrites the date columns in a CSV so every value uses the same format. Point it at a Shopify export, a supplier feed, or any spreadsheet where dates arrive as a mix of MM/DD/YYYY, DD/MM/YYYY, and YYYY-MM-DD, and pick one consistent output.
It detects likely date columns for you, reads ISO dates unambiguously, and lets you say whether slash dates are month-first or day-first so nothing is misread. Non-date cells and every other column are left untouched, so the file stays ready to import. Everything runs in your browser — the file never leaves your device.
How to use it
- Upload your CSVDrop in any export with date columns — orders, fulfillments, discounts, or a supplier feed.
- Pick columns and a target formatDate columns are detected for you. Choose ISO (YYYY-MM-DD), US (MM/DD/YYYY), or EU (DD/MM/YYYY) output.
- Download the normalized CSVEvery selected column is rewritten consistently. Copy the result or download the file — the rest of your data is untouched.
Frequently asked questions
- Which date formats can it read?
- It reads ISO dates (YYYY-MM-DD) and slash- or dash-separated dates with a four-digit year (MM/DD/YYYY or DD/MM/YYYY). ISO is unambiguous; for slash dates you can tell it whether the source is month-first (US) or day-first (EU).
- How does it handle an ambiguous date like 03/04/2024?
- On "auto", a value is read as day-first only when a component is greater than 12 (so 25/04/2024 is clearly a day-first date); otherwise it assumes month-first, the US convention. Set the source order explicitly to force one reading across the whole file.
- What happens to cells that are not dates?
- They are left exactly as they were. Only cells that parse as a valid date in a selected column are rewritten, so text, IDs, and blanks pass through unchanged.
- Does it change any other columns?
- No. Only the date columns you select are converted. Every other column and row is preserved, so the file stays importable.
- Is my file uploaded anywhere?
- No. Parsing and conversion happen entirely in your browser — nothing is sent to a server.
