About this tool

The CSV splitter breaks a large file into smaller chunks and hands them back as a zip. Set the rows per file, and the tool divides your data and copies the header onto every part. It reads .csv, .xlsx, and .xls.

Some imports and email attachments cap the number of rows or the file size they accept. Splitting a big product or order export into evenly sized pieces gets you under those limits without losing any rows. Files are split in the browser.

Does each split file keep the header row?

Yes. The header is copied to the top of every chunk so each file imports correctly on its own.

How many rows should I put per file?

Match the limit you are working around. Shopify's import accepts large files, but some apps and email attachments cap at a few thousand rows or a set megabyte size. If you are splitting a file you combined from several exports, the CSV Merge tool handles that first step.

Can I split an Excel file?

Yes. Upload .xlsx or .xls and the first sheet is split into CSV chunks.
