Supports .xlsx, .xls, and .csv files

Your file never leaves your browser

About this tool

The spreadsheet analyzer opens your Excel or CSV file and reports what is slowing it down: oversized files, blank columns, inconsistent headers, and rows that could be trimmed. It reads the structure and hands back plain suggestions instead of a wall of numbers.

Large or messy spreadsheets are slow to open and easy to break on import. Run a file through the analyzer before you send it to Shopify, a client, or a teammate to catch problems early. Your file is processed in the browser and never uploaded.

How to use it

  1. Drop your spreadsheetUpload a .csv, .xlsx, or .xls file. It is read locally in your browser.
  2. Review the reportSee file size, row and column counts, empty columns, and header issues.

Frequently asked questions

What does the analyzer check for?
File size, row and column counts, empty or duplicate columns, inconsistent header names, and structural issues that make a file slow to open or hard to import.
Is my file uploaded to a server?
No. Parsing happens in your browser. The file never leaves your device.
My spreadsheet is slow. What usually causes that?
Common causes are unused columns stretching far to the right, thousands of empty rows below your data, and heavy formatting or formulas. Removing those often shrinks the file dramatically.
