About this tool

The Google Shopping feed validator checks a product feed against Google's attribute spec before you upload it to Merchant Center. It verifies required attributes, price formats, URLs, availability and condition values, and product identifiers, then lists every problem with the row where it occurs.

Merchant Center disapprovals are vague — a feed can look fine in a spreadsheet and still get products rejected for a missing currency code or a malformed GTIN. Validating first surfaces those errors in one pass so you can fix them before upload. The file is checked in your browser and never uploaded anywhere.

How to use it

  1. Upload your feed fileAdd the product CSV you plan to upload to Google Merchant Center.
  2. Review the errorsSee missing attributes, bad prices, broken image URLs, and GTIN problems, tied to specific rows.
  3. Fix and re-checkCorrect the flagged rows and validate again until the feed is clean.

Frequently asked questions

What does the validator check?
Required attributes (id, title, description, link, image_link, price, availability), duplicate IDs, price and URL formatting, availability and condition values, GTIN check digits, and missing product identifiers like brand and MPN.
Why did Merchant Center disapprove my products?
The most common causes are a missing required attribute, a price without a currency code, an image link that is not a full URL, or an invalid availability value. The validator points to the exact rows with these problems.
My feed is a TSV export from Merchant Center — can I use it?
Convert it to CSV first with our TSV to CSV converter, then validate it here.
Does a clean result guarantee Google approval?
It clears the structural errors behind most disapprovals. Google also checks policy issues like landing-page mismatches and image quality, which no file validator can see.
