About this tool

TSV to CSV converts tab-separated data into comma-separated values. Paste a table copied from a spreadsheet or a Google Merchant Center export, and the tabs become commas with fields quoted where they contain commas of their own.

Copying cells out of Google Sheets or Excel gives you tab-separated text, and several product feeds ship as TSV. Shopify and many tools want CSV, so this handles the swap without breaking values that already contain commas.

How to use it

Frequently asked questions

Why do some fields get wrapped in quotes?

A value that already contains a comma would otherwise split into two columns. Wrapping it in double quotes keeps it in a single cell, which is standard CSV behavior.

Can I paste straight from Google Sheets or Excel?

Yes. Copying cells from either app puts tab-separated text on your clipboard, which is exactly what this tool reads.

Is this useful for Google Merchant Center feeds?

Yes. Merchant Center exports are often tab-separated. Convert to CSV here, then run the result through the Shopify CSV Validator before importing, or build a matching feed with the product schema generator.
