Open Graph Tag Generator

Fill in the fields and copy the generated OG meta tags into your page's <head>.

About this tool

The Open Graph tag generator builds the meta tags that control how your page looks when shared on Facebook, LinkedIn, and other platforms. Fill in the title, description, image, and URL, then copy the generated tags into your page's <head>.

Without Open Graph tags, a shared link shows whatever the platform guesses, often the wrong image or a truncated title. Setting them explicitly gives you a title, summary, and preview image you control. The tags generate instantly in your browser.

Frequently asked questions

What image size should I use for og:image?
1200 by 630 pixels is the standard for a large preview card. Use an absolute URL, since relative paths do not resolve when another site fetches your page.
Do Open Graph tags affect Twitter and X?
X falls back to Open Graph tags when Twitter Card tags are missing, so setting OG covers most of it. Add twitter:card for full control over the X preview.
Where do OG tags go in Shopify?
Shopify themes output default OG tags. To customize them, edit theme.liquid or the relevant template, or use an SEO app that manages the head section.
