About this tool

The SERP preview tool shows how your page will look in Google search results as you edit the title and meta description. It renders a mock result that clips your title and description to the same line lengths a Google listing does, so you see roughly where the text gets cut off.

Titles and descriptions read differently in a search result than in a text field. Previewing them catches titles that truncate mid-word and descriptions that run long before you publish. The preview updates live in your browser.

How to use it

  1. Enter your title and descriptionType the meta title, description, and URL you plan to use.
  2. Check the previewSee a Google-style result with realistic truncation on desktop and mobile.
  3. Refine until it fitsTrim or reword so the key message survives the cut-off.

Frequently asked questions

How long should a title and meta description be?
Aim for a title under about 60 characters and a description around 150 to 160. Google measures titles by pixel width, so the preview is a better guide than a raw character count.
Does Google always use my meta description?
Not always. Google may rewrite the description to match the query. A clear, relevant description raises the odds it uses yours.
Why does my title look different on mobile and desktop?
Mobile results have less width, so titles and descriptions truncate sooner. Check both views to make sure the important words show on each.
