Bulk Meta Title & Description Generator

Write one title and description template, merge in your product fields, and get SEO meta tags for the whole catalogue. Paste a CSV, use {Column} placeholders, export — all in your browser.

About this tool

Writing a unique meta title and description for every product is the kind of job that never gets done — so stores ship with duplicate tags, or none, and leave click-through on the table. This generator fixes it in one pass: you write the pattern once, using merge fields like {Title} and {Vendor}, and it fills that pattern from each row of your product CSV to produce tailored tags for the whole catalogue.

Every result shows a live character count so you can keep titles and descriptions inside the length Google actually displays. Everything runs locally in your browser. To pull just the columns you need out of a wider export first, use the Column Extractor, and preview how a tag will look in results with the SERP Snippet Preview.

How to use it

  1. Paste your product CSVExport products from Shopify (or any store) and paste the CSV. The column headers become the fields you can merge.
  2. Write your templatesType a meta title and description pattern, dropping in {Column} placeholders — click a field chip to insert one. Every row is filled from its own values.
  3. Copy or downloadReview the generated tags with live length checks, then export a CSV of handle, meta title, and meta description.

Frequently asked questions

How do the placeholders work?
Write a column name in curly braces, like {Title} or {Vendor}, anywhere in a template. For each product row the placeholder is replaced with that row's value in the matching column. Matching is case-insensitive, so {vendor} and {Vendor} both work, and a placeholder with no matching column is left blank.
How long should a meta title and description be?
Aim for about 60 characters or fewer for the title and roughly 160 for the description — beyond that, Google truncates them in search results. The tool flags any row that runs long so you can tighten the template before exporting.
Which CSV columns can I use?
Any header in your file. A standard Shopify product export gives you Handle, Title, Vendor, Type, Tags, and Variant Price among others. The available fields appear as clickable chips once you paste a CSV with a header row.
How do I get these into Shopify?
The export uses a Handle column plus Meta Title and Meta Description, so you can map them into a product import or a metafields import (Shopify stores SEO fields as the title_tag and description_tag metafields). Edit any row further before importing if a template result needs a human touch.
Does my data leave my browser?
No. The whole merge runs in your browser — nothing is uploaded. Want your catalogue kept in sync automatically instead of re-pasting exports? ShopSheets syncs your Shopify data straight into Google Sheets.
