Reorder Point Calculator

Never sell out of a best-seller again. Paste a sales CSV, set your lead time, and get the stock level to reorder each SKU at — all in your browser.

Needs a product or SKU column and a Lineitem quantity column. Add a date column for an accurate window, and an On hand column to flag what to reorder now.

About this tool

Running out of a best-seller costs a sale twice: the order you can't fill and the customer who shops elsewhere. A reorder point is the stock level that triggers a restock early enough for it to arrive before you sell out. This calculator reads a sales CSV, works out how fast each SKU sells, and multiplies that velocity by your supplier lead time plus a safety buffer — so you reorder on the numbers, not a hunch.

Set your lead time and safety stock, paste an export with a product, quantity, and date column, and every SKU gets a daily velocity and a reorder point. Add an on-hand column and the tool flags exactly what to reorder today. Everything runs locally in your browser. To combine sales and stock from separate files first, reach for the CSV Merger; to spot the slow movers tying up cash, see the Profit Margin Report.

How to use it

  1. Export your salesExport your Shopify orders (or any sales CSV) with a product/SKU, a quantity, and an order date column so the tool can measure how fast each item sells.
  2. Set lead time and bufferEnter your supplier lead time in days and how many days of safety stock you want to hold. Paste the CSV below.
  3. Read the reorder pointsSee daily velocity and a reorder point per SKU — the stock level to restock at so you don't sell out. Copy or download the list.

Frequently asked questions

How is the reorder point calculated?
For each SKU, daily velocity = units sold ÷ the number of days your sales window spans. The reorder point is velocity × (lead time + safety stock days), rounded up. Restock when stock reaches that number and the order should arrive before you run out.
Where does the sales window come from?
From the dates in your export. The tool reads the earliest and latest order date (from a Created at, Paid at, or Date column) and divides units sold by that span. No date column? It assumes a 30-day window and shows a note — trim your export to the period you want to measure.
What is safety stock?
Extra days of cover held as a buffer against demand spikes or a late shipment. Setting safety stock to 7 days adds a week of average sales on top of lead-time demand, so a slow supplier or a busy week doesn't leave you out of stock.
Can it tell me what to reorder right now?
Yes, if your CSV includes a current stock column (On hand, Available, or Inventory). Any SKU at or below its reorder point is flagged Reorder now. Merge stock levels into your sales export first with the CSV Merger if they live in a separate file.
Does my data leave my browser?
No. Everything is computed in your browser — nothing is uploaded. Want reorder points that update themselves instead of re-pasting each week? ShopSheets syncs your Shopify sales straight into Google Sheets.
